Our Mission

Here at Ballet Maria Luz, our mission is to nurture and inspire students of all ages by promoting history, understanding, sensitivity, and the importance of community engagement through Folklorico dance. We aim to make dance training available in an atmosphere that supports the continuation of artistic values, while providing challenging choreography to our students. We value our beautiful heritage, and would like to showcase it for our community in a way that inspires pride in our friends and family, while including everyone – regardless of their ethnic heritage – in the celebration of our culture.

Our Purpose

Our Purpose as a performing group at Ballet Maria Lutz is to provide quality instruction in the various music genres and dances from a wide array of Spanish-speaking cultures. By including many different traditional folklorico dance outfits, along with a variety of short stories in every performance, we can share the rich diversity of our culture. By raising awareness of the incredible contributions made to the wider world by Spanish speaking people through history, we can positively impact the communities of the Greater Lansing Area. Through dance and music, we can present our rich and diverse cultural heritage to the world, and in doing so, help shape the future for the next generation.

Our Goal

At Ballet Maria Luz, our goal is to provide all of our students with educational and enjoyable dance classes and workshops centered around the many different styles of folklorico dance. By inspiring self discipline and dedication, we aim to empower every one of our students in their personal life’s journey, and help them to master the fine art of dance. Through the use of vibrant music, dazzling attire, and culturally relevant choreography, we hope to nurture, educate, and inspire every child and every adult we have the pleasure of teaching.
